It was a rocky year for the hit FOX show. Re-live it after the jump.
You may remember in July it was announced that after judging for two seasons on the show, Steven Tyler would not be coming back. The very next day Jennifer Lopez announced she wouldn’t be returning either.
The search was on for new judges.
Rumoured names included Nick Jonas, Enrique Iglesias, Diddy, Adam Lambert and even Kanye West.
Mariah Carey was the first name to be announced on July 23rd.
Then we waited 2 months until the announcement that Nicki Minaj and Keith Urban would round out the judging table with Randy Jackson and Mariah Carey.
But the honeymoon didn’t last long. It seemed there was animosity from the start between Nicki and Mariah.
At one point early in the audition process Nicki stormed off the set. Some reports say that Minaj was fed up with Mariah’s alleged diva-like behaviour.
Even Barbara Walters had to get the story.
